Realistic Registry-What you REALLY Need








Why recreate the wheel? If you are just starting out, you will need the basics-which will vary depending on what you already have, your budget and how often you plan on cooking and entertaining. Take some straight up advice from a recent bride who just went through this.
I'll keep adding to this list sooooo, consider it a work in progress. I'll highlight items I've found most useful in preparing for meals. Again, you will have to individualize this to your needs.

Electronics
  • Cuisinart 4 slice Toaster
  • Cuisinart Infusion blender with chopper
  • Kitchenaid Blender

  • Extras such as waffle makers can be added down the line if you are in dire need of the basics and don't have a large guest list for your bridal shower. Make sure to put in some low, medium to high cost items for your guests to chose from keeping their budget in regard.
  • Cook Ware
  • Emeril's All Clad 10 or 14 piece cookware is reasonably priced. Stainless steel will last forever using steel wool such as a Brillo pad to scrub those burn marks off.

    • Set (or block) of good knives-JA Henckle
      • You will also need a serrated edge knife. That's the kind with the saw tooth edge. It's perfect for bread, cakes, and cutting tomatoes.
      • One small "paring" knife with a 2-to-4 inch blade is essential for all small tasks in the kitchen.
  • Corningware set with different sizes, comes with glass and rubber covers
  • Mixing Bowl Sets of various sized with covers
  • Utensils: Spatulas, Stirring spoons, Slotted spoons, Scrapers, Flour sifter and whiskers
  • Basic bakeware set with a 9x13 Pan9x9 Pan, loaf pan, cookie sheets (at least 2) and varying sized rectangular baking pans for brownies or baking fish/chicken
  • Pasta Strainer

  • Manual Can Opener

  • Iced Beverage/Goblets flexible-great for beer, wine or soda
  • China and wine glasses up to you. I am just going over the basics for dining.
